Weekend Life, Indian Movies and some quickies

After lot many weekends, we found ourselves busy on a Saturday with grocery and other shopping. After all, it was supposed to be a good weather that day (16 degrees with sun). We made a good use of it.

It was our Ikea lunch-Saturday. From time to time, I club my Ikea shopping with lunch there. For those who know it, it isn’t a big restaurant there., just a cafeteria or even less. But I like their food and the simple salad. It is definitely worth for the Euros that you pay. The shop itself was all flooded with toys and gifts for St Nicolas day. Aka Sinterklaas Eve, it’s a day for kids here in Belgium (and in many of Europe). The kids get presents from the Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet, just like the Christmas celebrations. Except that this come couple of weeks early. It is in tradition of our company to have a party on that day to invite all the employees with their kids and gift them with the choices of their parents. I’m excited to be *qualified* for the party this year. We got for Akil the VTech Baby Walker and needless to say, he is already enjoying the music panel that comes along with it – not by playing it… but by sucking it.

It is a pleasure seeing a kid growing in front of our eyes. Now that Akil goes to the day care, he learns something new every day. His latest lesson is spitting everything at everybody’s face. In the nights, he gets up to be on his own and keep spitting to make our bed all wet.

Women harassment in India

It was in the Vikatan today that India bags 4th place in woman harassment. Most of the cases discussed were related to women unemployment, sexual harassment, unequal pay etc. Though they form the majority of the reasons for women ill treatment, it is rather a pity that nobody discusses about the problems that even educated and well earning women still face in their families. Leave the society and your relations, as a woman do you dare to say that you would like to earn more than your husband or hold a position higher than him? Or do would you ask your husband to take a day off when your kid is ill, because you are busy at work? No. You wouldn’t. You are bound to the fear being held responsible and the so-called emotional stupidity that makes you feel guilty in some way if you have to do these. It goes unsaid that, irrespective of whatever situation you are in, you are expected to carry on such burdens, with willingness. Only the nature of problems differ when a women is employed. Till we are bound to such emotional stupidities, the so called cultural and social practices, withholding the status in the society and so on, there is no way by which India will come down in that list.

Ra.One

We saw the Hindi version of the movie this weekend. Honestly, we could not manage to stay awake till the end. I always have a good feeling about Hindi movies. If not too good, you can at least time-pass and enjoy them. But this one…, it made me proud to be a Tamilian for yet another time. Endhiran was 100 times better. And the scene where Rajini appears… I’m sorry. No words to explain. It was purely masala. And I strongly object, as a fan of him, to have made such a fun of the movie.

Leaving the regional and language boundaries, when I see such new “attempts” in Indian movies, I always wonder: They had decided to show something different from the regular cinema. Why not study completely and make it correct? The life of Bhodhidharma (7am arivu), Chozhas (Aayirathil Oruvan), and game characters entering real life (Ra One) were all so un-clear, dizzy and doesn’t really explain the concept properly. I just feel that the director lost interest when he was half-way through the making. . In the same time, it’s no wonder why Shankar took 3 years for Endhiran. Though it had its own flaws, it went beyond others to make a justification to a common man about how a robot could get feelings.

Back to blogging, web designing and musings

It’s been quite a while I was away from blogging., with an extra special reason of pregnancy and baby. Wauw.. the days have gone like wind. It is no wonder why people say life changes when you have a kid. Our little Akil had churned both of us. Pregnancy and delivery, especially the first one, is special for every woman. Mine was too special for me for the reason that, we had an expectation for neither of it. Yet it all went as smooth as a breeze and we are one happy family now; no more couples. The first few days of our life as parents, had brought a great happiness in me. Not just for the little toes at ours’, but the way it all went: prenatal checkups, tensions, D-day and D-moment, hospital days… And I feel I was lucky enough to have such a calm and peaceful delivery in spite of no preparation. I should do some return to this and pen all those reminiscence of the days that preceded and succeeded the arrival of our cute monster. And now back to the drill of common life. Struggling between home – cooking - day care - work - doctor visits, my life had really condensed to a minimal, yet happy and contended.

I was never serious about blogging; probably will never be. That is also one of the reasons why I actually don’t have big fan group. I was sticking on to more facts, news, technology and likes. But lately, I’m finding it to be a useful way to flush out my thoughts. Writing (typing!) what comes to my mind, gives me some pleasure and I had chosen to continue on to this. You may never find a common topic in my blog. But you can definitely find what my mind is joggling about.

And now to some serious writing …

Though tester by profession, I have a great interest in web designing. Don’t remember from where, when or whom, did my mind turned that way. All I know is that, it gives me some unexplainable pleasure and happiness. As soon as I was pregnant, I had made up my mind to spend the days after the delivery in something useful for my interest. Everybody kept telling me that, in spite of washing bottles and changing diapers, I will still have plenty of time when the baby is sleeping. But it turned out to be impossible in a different way (which, hopefully, I will be able to explain in my story). But now, I have the time. Akil is 6 months and is mostly on himself. If I plan to manage my household works, then I have plenty of time for this. I gave a good begin with designing a simple Wordpress blog. Will soon share my work.

It is no wonder a big break like this changes somebody’s habits. Especially, in my case, it had pushed out a lot of laziness out of me and had brought it in this “use this minute” attitude. It had become so much that, I feel guilty if I had to sit in front of my laptop for a minute when there was just one coffee mug waiting to be washed. In the same spirit of doing “the useful”, I’m hoping to write more and do more.

டீலா நோ டீலா:

அது என்னமோ இந்த ப்ரோக்ராம்மோட கான்சப்ட் மட்டும் எனக்கு புரியலை. வாழ்க்கைல எந்த துன்பமும் இல்லாம சந்தோஷமா இருக்கறவங்க இவ்வளவு காச கண்ணால கூட பார்க்க கூடாதா? கணவர் விட்டுட்டு போனவங்க, அப்பா அம்மா இல்லாதவங்க, படிக்க வசதி இல்லாதவங்க.. இவங்க எல்லாம் தான் வராங்க. ஒரு வேளை சந்தோஷமா இருக்கறவங்ககிட்ட எல்லாம் அம்பது லட்சதுக்கு மேல இருக்கா? (நான் நிம்மதியா, கடவுள் அனுக்ரஹத்தில எந்த குறையும் இல்லாம தான் இருக்கேன். ஆனா என்கிட்டே அவ்ளோ தேராது). நான் தப்பு சொல்லலை. அவங்க செலக்ட் பண்ற நோக்கம் சரியா இருக்கு. ஆனா ஒரு சேஞ்சுக்கு எந்த கஷ்டமும் இல்லாதவங்களையும் கூப்பிடலாமே.. சந்தோஷமா இருக்கறவங்க மத்தவங்களுக்கு உதவி செய்ய மாட்டாங்களா?

இந்த வாரம் ரெண்டு எபிசோட் பார்த்தேன். ஒன்னு, கிராமிய கலைகளை கத்துக்கிட்டு அத வளர்க்கனும்னு ஆசைப்பட்ட ஒருத்தர். நல்லாவே இருந்துது.. (அதுலயும் எனக்கு ஒரு டவுட்.. டான்ஸ்ல எவ்வளவோ இருக்கும்போது, நிறைய பேரு அத ஒரு சாகச கலையா தான் பார்க்கராங்களோனு தோணுது. ஆடினவர் நல்லாவே ஆடினார். ஆனா, கைத்தட்டல் நிறைய வந்தது அவர் பெஞ்ச் மேல ஏறி நின்னு ஆடினதுக்கு தான்.. ).. என்னடா இது நம்ம ஆசை பட்டா மாதிரி சந்தோஷமா (அவர் ரொம்ப பெரிய கஷ்டத்துல இருக்கறவர் மாதிரி எனக்கு தோணலை.. ) இருக்கற ஒருத்தர கூப்பிட்டாங்களேன்னு நினைச்சேன். கூடவே ரெண்டாவது எபிசோட் ஒன்னும் பார்த்தேன். அதுல ஒருத்தர்.. அரசியல்வாதி ஆகணுமாம்.. அடக்கடவுளே.. அந்த கொடுமைய நீங்களே பாருங்க.. நோ கமெண்ட்ஸ்.

காமன்வெல்த்:

சும்மா சொல்லக்கூடாதுங்க நம்ம ஆட்க்கள.. அவன் மேல பழிய போட்டு இவன் மேல பழிய போட்டு, எல்லா ட்ராமாவும் நடத்தி, ஒரு வழிய "கோலாகல கொண்டாட்டமா" ஆரம்பிச்சிட்டாங்க. நம்ம எல்லோரோட ப்ளட் பிரஷர்-யும் எக்கச்சக்கத்துக்கு எத்தி விட்டு, எல்லாத்தையும் கடைசி வரைக்கும் பெண்டிங்க்ல வெச்சி அப்பறம் தான் முடிப்போம்னு தேரிலே பாவம் மத்தவங்களுக்கு. கலைவிழா நல்லா இருந்துது. மத்தபடி எந்த விஷயமும் எனக்கு பிடிக்கலை. தன்னடக்கம்-ன்னு ஒரு வார்த்தையும் இருக்கு.. அதையும் கத்துக்கலாம்ன்னு எல்லாம் இவங்களுக்கு எப்போ தோணுமோ? அந்த கடவுளுக்கு தான் வெளிச்சம்!

கொஞ்சமா எந்திரன்: 

நிஜம்மாவே கொஞ்சூண்டு தான்.. ஏன்னா, சொல்றதுக்கு நிறையவே இருக்கு. டைம் தான் இல்லே. Hopefully, I will share my first impression before its too late. ஒரு வழியா பார்த்துட்டேன். இங்க பெல்ஜியம்ல எங்கேயும் இல்லே. யாஹூ ஆன்சர்-ல எல்லாம் கேட்டு எங்கயும் பதில் கிடைக்காம, யாரோ சொன்னாங்க… இங்க நெதர்லாண்ட்ஸ்ல ரெண்டு மூணு தியேட்டர்ல, அதுவும் இந்த வீக்கென்ட் மட்டும் ஸ்க்ரீன் பண்றதா .. நல்ல வேளையா தப்பிச்சேன்.. எதுவும் மாட்டலைன்னா பாரீஸ்-க்கு போறதா ஒரு ப்ளான்  இருந்துது.. (வீட்ல பயங்கர திட்டு..  ரெண்டு மணி நேரம் படத்துக்கு நாலு மணி நேரம் வண்டிய ஓட்டிட்டு போக சொல்றியே.. என்னா வில்லத்தனம் உனக்குன்னு). மூவி நல்லாவே இருந்துது... நிறைய இருக்கு பேச. ஒரு விஷயம் மட்டும் இப்போ.. தயவு செய்து இன்னும் படம் பார்க்காதவங்க, எந்திரன் பற்றிய போஸ்ட் எல்லாம் படிச்சிடாதீங்க. அந்த தப்பை நான் பண்ணேன்.. கிட்டத்தட்ட ஒவ்வொரு சீன்லேயும் மனசுக்குள்ள அடுத்தது இது தான்.. அடுத்தது இதுதான்னு ஒப்பிச்சிகிட்டே இருந்தேன். அதுவும் எல்லோரும் அந்த கிடைசி 40 நிமிஷம் பத்தி போட்ட பிட்டுல ரொம்பவே ஏமாந்துட்டேன். (40 நிமிஷம் நல்லா தான் இருந்துது. ஆனா எதிர்பார்ப்பு ரொம்ப ஆகவே, ஸ்க்ரீன்-ல பார்த்ததுல இண்டரஸ்ட் இல்லாம போய்டுச்சு).

எந்திரன் - கமென்ட்டா போடணும்னு நினைச்சேன்

வேலை பார்க்கும்போது படிச்சது. http://rkguru.blogspot.com/2010/09/blog-post_25.html. படிச்சதும் தலைல அடிச்சிகிட்டது தான் பாக்கி. கீழ இருக்கறத அவரோட ப்ளாக்லையே கமெண்ட்டா போடலாம்னு நினைச்சேன். அங்க வந்திருக்கற response பார்த்து, கும்மி அடிக்கற கூட்டத்துக்கு நடுவுல சொல்ல வேண்டாம்-ன்னு இங்க சொல்லிருக்கேன்.

ரஜினி படம் வந்துதுனாலே மாலை போடறதும், பால் அபிஷேகம் பண்றதும் ஒன்னும் புதுசு இல்லியே.. அதுக்கு படத்த எதுக்கு திட்டனும்? முட்டி போட்டு மலை ஏறினது பைத்தியக்காரத்தனம் தான். அதுல எந்த மாற்றுக்கருத்தும் இல்லே. ஆனா அந்த வேலைய செஞ்சவங்கள தான் திட்ட தோணுதே தவிர, படத்த ஒட்டு மொத்தமா குறை சொல்ல முடியாது. 

படத்த படமா பார்க்க கத்துக்கோங்க. After all, it is just an entertainment media. அந்த மூணு மணி நேரத்துக்கு அப்பறம் சொரணை இல்லாதவங்களுக்கு சொரணை வரப் போறதில்லே; தமிழ் ஆர்வலர்கள் anti-tamilians-ஆக மாற போறதும் இல்லே. In spite of all the controversies, nobody can deny the fact that the technology in the film is something to be expected.

ஒரு விஷயம்.. நான் selfish-ஆ இல்லே.. ஆனா இந்த விஷயத்துக்கு இவ்ளோ BP ஆகாதுன்னு தான் சொல்ல தோணுது.

ரெண்டாவது.. எது பத்தி எழுதினாலும் சரி.. எந்திரன், பிரபுதேவா/நயன்தாரா, காமன்வெல்த் -ன்னு ஒரு லிஸ்ட் வெச்சிருந்தேன்.. இதை பற்றி எல்லாம் மட்டும் எழுதிட கூடாதுன்னு. கூடியமட்டும் உபயோகமான / இன்டரஸ்டிங்கான விஷயம் மட்டும் தான் சொல்லனும்னு இருந்தேன். என்னமோ.. இது எழுதாம இருக்க முடியலை.

எது எப்படியோ, நான் இந்தியாவுல இல்லே. என்கூட வேலை பார்க்கும் ஒருத்தர் (இந்த ஊருக்காரர்) கேட்டாரு. "And so.. what is the upcoming movie of Slumdog millionaire famous A.R.Rahman?" .. பெருமையா சொன்னேன்.. "It is called Enthiran.. Meaning… the robot.." .. படம் எது பற்றின்னு கேட்டாரு. சொல்றதுக்கு எனக்கு விஷயம் இருந்துது”

கிள்ளினா எனக்கு வலிக்கும்னு சொல்றவங்களும் சரி, இந்த கிள்ளுக்கு எல்லாம் ஏன்யா வலிக்கனும்னு சொல்றவங்களும் சரி.. எதாவது சொல்றதுக்கு இருந்தா சொல்லிட்டு போங்க.

ஸ்பாம் - ரூம் போட்டு யோசிக்கறாங்கப்பா!

ஜிமெயில் ஸ்பாம் பில்டர நெனச்சி எப்போவுமே நான் பீத்திண்டது உண்டு.. இன்னிக்கு இந்த மெயில் எப்படியோ அதுக்கு தப்பி என்னோட இன்பாக்ஸ்ல வந்துடுச்சு. டைட்டில் பார்த்தவுடனே தெரிஞ்சிடுச்சு.. ஸ்பாம்தான்னு. இருந்தாலும் ஓபன் பன்னுவோமேன்னு பண்ணேன்.

இதெல்லாம் சாத்தான் வேலையா தான் இருக்கும்.!! ;)
